MOTHERING DAY

Mothering Sunday is a Christian festival celebrated around Europe. It is also called Mother’s Day in UK and usually that day is celebrated on Sunday.
That day is always celebrated the fourth Sunday of Lent in UK. (In Spain as we know it is celebrated the first Sunday of May). So every year Mothering Sunday is celebrated in different dates, sometimes also it is celebrated in different months.
Mothering Sunday has been celebrated in the UK since at least the 16th century. There is a story behind Mothering Sunday.
That day was also known as ‘Refreshment Sunday’, ‘Mid-Lent Sunday’ and ‘Pudding Pie Sunday’. In that day which is in Lent the fasting rules were relaxed in honour of the ‘Feeding of the Five Thousand’, a story in the Christian Bible.
No one knows absolutely certain how the name of the Mothering Sunday began. However on theory is that the celebration could have been adopted from a Roman Spring festival, Mother Goddes.
Mothering Sunday became a celebration of motherhood although in countries other than UK and Ireland that other holiday has other origins.
In that day children give their mothers a gift and a lovely card. Is mother’s day so their children pay respect to their respective mothers.
Many churches give the children a little bunch of spring flowers to give to their mothers as a thank you for all they love, care and in fact for all the things they do for them.

DISCUSSION ESSAY ON LANGUAGE TEACHING

Nowadays the language teaching is necessary in all schools, because students need to learn the language to integrate into society.
Of course, these children must learn other kind of language, like English, which is the most important language in the world. It has millions of speakers around the world and in all schools there is a subject of English.
It’s necessary teaching different languages, it’s important that the students improve progressively their language skills because nowadays knowing different languages is a career. Especially in Ibiza that tourism is very high and we live by it.
For this, is very important schools teach languages and it becomes for all schools in Spain and in the world.
Many adult people don’t know anything about languages and for them it’s very difficult to find a good job, because, actually, in many jobs require language skill to work there.
Therefore, our young people have to learn a lot of different languages to have a good future. If they learn these skills of the languages correctly they will have a good future in their life.
There are many opponents of this idea too. These people (some parents especially) think their children don’t need learn languages because they think Spanish is enough for them. For this, they think that if their children learn Spanish culture they will be a good future.
But, in my opinion, these parents are totally mistaken because languages are the basis of our students’ future and without them nobody will go far.
So finally, our schools must teach languages to improve our education, which needs being better.

INTRODUCING MYSELF

I could talk about many things in my life, but this paper would be small for this. So I will talk about the most important in my life...
My name is Alba Jiménez Alcalde, I'm nineteen years old. I was born in Ibiza but all my family is from Madrid.
My father's name is Pablo, he is fifty-one years old and he works in an office.
My mother's name is Isabel, she is fory nine years old, ab she works in another office.
The married in 1980 and the had two daughters: Laura, my sister who is twenty-three years old. She has studied economics and she is workink in a hotel.
Since I was child I love playing football and I have been playing football since I was a child.
All my life I have life in Ibiza and for me it is the best island in the world. The best places here are the beaches and clubs. Summer here is incredible! For this reason I love Ibiza, I love my island, I like the best island in the world!!
I studied elementary education at "Sa Graduada" school. Later, in high school, I went to IES Santa María. This high school was not the best, but it was Ok to learn the basics.
Nowadays, I am studying child education at the University of the Balearic Islands. I love these studies although I thought it would be easier, but the most important thing is that I love children!
I've always wanted to study special education, but with our friend "Bologna", I couldn't do ir, and I had to choose another subject that I like too.
I have always liked special education because I think that it's very nice to help people who really have problems in their development.
My experience with chlid started when I was twelve and I started taking care of my cousins. At that, I realized that I wanted this in my future.
I have several diferrent hobbies: I love sport, swimming, reading, writing poems, sleeping, going to the cinema, watching TV (specially tv shows like "Big Brother or Mira quien baila".
I am cheerful, friendly and shy. I like to laughing and making people laugh because I think a laugh is the most beautiful thing in a person.
When I imagine my future, I see my house, an enormous house and my husband, my children and my happy life!!!
I have clear ideas, and I will work hard to succeed in my life!
Another thing I'd do all my life is travel around the world, and visit a lot of countries.
I love travelling and visiting new places in the world beucause I've only visited countries like Italy, Tunisia or France, an I'd like to visit many more!
Finally, I would like to talk about my best dream, the dream of my life. Every night, I dream about my future life, and all I want to have happiness, health and love, a lot of love!

Discussion essay on education

Nowadays, the world, in general, is changing a lot. Society needs nwe technologies to live happily. Our modern life that lives with us requires a series of changes which have marked our society forever.
When we talk abou education, we can see all the changes that are happening especially in the world of technology.
Years ago, the world was very differents: students only listened and learned, but now, they can participate in learning, learn in a more useful way, an have many more facilities in their future.
Introducing laptops in classrooms is the new plan os the Government, which is a good idea in my opinion because children learn tu use them early and in the future it will be easier to use them correctly.
In a few years, the world will be computerized, therefore we must introduce ICT as soon as possible to live well in the future.
I think that ICT, information and communication technologies, are indispensable in education because they help us to learn more easily and the offer us a lot of new opportunities. These opportunities integrate us into this globalized world, whose money comes mainly from technological innovations.
ICT are a way of life in education; thanks to them we have many resources to use in our learning and teaching. To adapt to these innovtions, it is necessary to have a better formation for both. This process will be expensive but the positive consequences will be many.
It is true that books are useful for pupils to read and write correctly, but they are very limited. In this world of new technologies if you want to adapt to society, you must learn to use these new means of communication.
It's also true that it is difficult for some teachers to introduce all these changes in their teaching because their traditional way is not so easy to change.
The world has changed a lot, education is become more and more innovative and society should adapt to these changes to survive.

New technologies are the key to our world and our future.

Learn English. Days of the week







Aims:
-Learn the names of the different days of the week
-Learn the order of the days
-Knowing how to write them
-Knowing how to spell them
-Learn different songs about these
-Enjoying the lesson

Place:

The English lesson will be held in our class.

Time:

This lesson will last about 45 minutes

Methodolody:

First, we will see some images and videos about the days.
Then, we will repeat the names (in order) of all the days of the week.
When children know the week's days, we will start to learn different songs about these.
Later, we will talk about the days, and they will tell which is the day that they like.
Finally, we will return to sing songs and the lesson will have finished.
